This is just down the road from me; tempting to go get a ride in it, just to experience it.

For anyone unfamiliar with the classic commercial.

As a general rule of thumb, I NEVER trust claimed HP ratings for a small block without the following details:
Compression ratio, cam specs, head details, intake model, carb model/setup, short block details (main count, bore, stroke), and ideally a dyno graph (engine or wheel).
Too many people out there think their bolt on 350 pulled from an old 1/2 ton is making 500 hp because it has a chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers .

Considering the biggest engine from the factory gave 190hp, that number could be off by 30% and still be a huge boost.

Allow me to introduce you to the LM1 and LS9 350 SBC’s.
The LM1 was found in sedans and made 155-175hp. The LS9 was used in the half ton trucks and made 165hp.
There was even a two barrel carb version of the LM1 (L65) that only made 145hp.
There are a lot of junk 350's out there. They all have potential but many of them are worthless without the right work done.
I’m just saying I don’t believe any power figure that has zero information backing it up

I don’t doubt that’s true, but did any engine from 2015 perform so poorly?

I mean, aside from crate engines, there aren't any 2015 gen 1 SBC's. And if it's a crate engine, it's a little odd that they didn't say which one.
